A resident of Pankisi, 19 years old Islam Kavtarashvili, became the winner of the international competition in Judo which took place in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt.
Kavtarashvili had five fights. The final was again the Egyptian fighter, which Islam won successfully.
It’s not the first success for Islam. Last year he took the first place in Athens in the international Judo competition.
It’s 5 years that he is involved in Judo. For 2 years he was training in Akhmeta Judo gym, but for the last three year he is doing workouts in Duisi Judo gym. His trainers Dato Chikaidze and Grisha Gumashvili said Islam is still in Cairo and getting ready for the championship of Georgia.
They’re about 60 resident children of Pankisi training in Judo club, which is located in Pankisi Valley.
